Description:
Don’t miss this opportunity!!! As the academic year 2026-2027 has begun, the Metropolis International Migration Network continues its recently launched Webinar Series. And the first webinar in the new 2026-2027 season will be dedicated to the critical analysis of the phenomenon of persisting colonialism in the global era of rising xenophobia and racism. This issue has recently become very topical within the overall context of the increasingly racist, xenophobic and harmful migration policies implemented globally. By looking into manifestations of colonialism and its consequences for Africa, this webinar will develop the rhetoric of the UN Resolution A/RES/80/250 and enable a further discussion at the Metropolis International 2026 Conference in Accra, Ghana, on “Rethinking African Mobility: Past Lessons, Present Realities, Future Possibilities”.
Program/Agenda:
Professor Tendayi Achiume (Stanford University; former UN Special Rapporteur on Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance)
