Metropolis International Network Mentorship Pilot

Are you an early career academic or researcher working on migration? Mentoring can open doors that a CV alone cannot.

Inspiring career pathways: Metropolis Global Mentoring Pilot Workshop

Join Settlement Services International (SSI) for an interactive 60-minute workshop on what makes mentoring work and how it can strengthen your career, your networks and your research.

Date: 18 November 2026

Time: 7.30am - 8.30am

Location: Cedi Conference Centre, Main Auditorium, University of Ghana (in-person)

Who can attend: Early Career Academic or researcher working  on migration policy.

About the workshop

The workshop will explore the benefits and impacts of mentoring, hear how the RISE Project has supported culturally and racially marginalised women into leadership, and take a first look at the Metropolis Mentoring Program Pilot, which drew more than 50 applications from across the globe. Two short case studies will bring the experience to life, and you will have the chance to reflect on what you could gain from, and offer to, a mentoring relationship.

You will also hear about the next round of the program and the how the program could potentially be replicated as a Ghana-based mentoring pilot.
